THE PORTOBELLO BUILDING
MYCELIA DEVELOPMENT'S CURRENT PROJECT
What is the Portobello Building?
The Portobello building, a new cultural life and arts center in the heart of downtown Beaver Falls, will be the first green building of its kind in Beaver County. Boasting a handmade market, cafe, pottery studio, gallery, black box theater, conference room and green space, the Portobello will become a gathering place for artistic expression, events and community.
Why Does Beaver Falls Need This?
Once a thriving hub of industry, Beaver Falls, felt the sting as steel mills shut down and vacated the area. In recent years, a feisty group of residents has fought to maintain this once bustling community and are now helping with revitalization efforts in this amazingly resilient city. The Portobello building comes at a time when Beaver Falls is entering a Renaissance and we are honored to be a part of it.
When Will All the Magic Happen?
The countdown to breaking ground on the Portobello was altered when funding sources were diverted (rightly) to COVID-19 assistance around the region. We are now working with a start date of 2022-23. With an estimated 12 months scheduled for construction, the timeline for the official debut of our building is slated for 2023. We can't wait to open our doors to you!
Mycelia Development is committed to projects which create connection, inspire beauty and serve as a catalyst in the community. We offer beauty to our community as a tool for hopefulness and restoration. Learn more about our team and why we do what we do!
MUSHROOMS ARE ALL ABOUT COMMUNITY
Mushrooms are fascinating little creatures. Their root systems, or Mycelia, grow for many years until the exact right setting allows them to fruit, or grow a mushroom. Developing land and real estate is much the same. A community must grow and be fertile soil for the fruit of real estate and good business. We at Mycelia Development believe in collaborating with exactly the right community of people and their environment, and then being "all in" for it's benefit.
